Helicopter Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Popular Southern California Beach
A chopper flying over a crowded California beach suddenly started spinning out of control, finally losing altitude and plunging into a cluster of palm trees as onlookers observed.
Footage posted online depict the helicopter commencing to spiral above Huntington Beach then falling towards the border of the shore, where it gets stuck among palms and a set of stairs near the coastal road.
Emergency Response Details
Local firefighters said five persons were taken to hospital involving two who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the incident on that day.
Three individuals on the road were injured. Details on their injuries were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
