Around 25,000 households in south-east Queensland were left without power on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events impacted the state, producing powerful gusts hitting 109km/h.

Locals observed large ice chunks reaching sizes of seven centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that various areas across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

Damp conditions were expected to linger along large portions of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
